It’s hard to believe that the mature, rich and tortured voice of Billie Eilish is a mere fifteen years old. Eilish first came to our attention two years ago, when a bedroom recording of a song she wrote with her brother went viral on Soundcloud. That song was ‘Ocean Eyes’, which was quickly snapped up and rereleased to acclaim from Vogue, Noisey and Billboard. Now returning with a pop-polished look and sound to match, Eilish has just dropped the video to ‘Bored’, which was first released as part of Netflix Originals 13 Reasons Why. The video features the LA star and her icy stare draped across an eerily sparse backdrop of stairways into nowhere, and having amassed 70,000 views in just over 24 hours there seems to be no stopping Eilish and her hauntingly sparse brand of pop. Eilish plays her first headline show on 10^th July at London’s The Courtyard Theatre – unsurprisingly, it’s already sold out. ­- HM
